Privacy policy

Last updated October 24, 2026

This policy explains what Sourcerer (the website, the phone app and the Chrome extension) collects, why, and what you can do about it. We don’t sell your personal information and we don’t show ads.

What we collect

  • Account details: your email address and name, and your profile picture if you sign in with Google.
  • Sign-in records: active sessions and the browsers you’ve connected the extension from (for example “Chrome on macOS”), so you can see and sign them out.
  • Usage: how many lookups you make each day, to count your allowance and stop abuse. The products, barcodes and search terms you look up pass through our servers to fetch their data, and we cache that data for everyone. The cache doesn’t record who asked for it; your lookup history (below) does.
  • Lookup history: the products you open (ASIN, title, picture and when), so your history shows on every device you use and reopening a product within a day doesn’t use another lookup. Barcodes and search terms aren’t kept in it. You can clear it at any time from History.
  • Payments: card payments are handled by Stripe, and we never see or store your card number. We keep your Stripe customer and subscription details (plan, status, renewal dates). For USDC payments we keep the amount, the payment reference and the transaction ID; transactions on the Solana blockchain are public by design.
  • Messages you send us.

The Chrome extension

  • It reads the address of the active tab on Amazon product pages, to know which product to show.
  • When you use its right-click menu, it reads the text you selected, to look it up.
  • It stores your settings, notes, buy list and a sign-in token in Chrome storage on your computer. The token lets it make lookups for your account; you can disconnect browsers from your account page.
  • It doesn’t read the content of other websites, your browsing history, or your Amazon account.

The phone app

The scanner uses your camera only while the scanner screen is open. Barcodes are read on your phone; camera images are never uploaded. Settings, notes and your buy list are kept in your browser on that device.

How we use it

To run Sourcerer: signing you in, looking up products, enforcing plan allowances, taking payments, preventing abuse, answering support requests and sending service emails (like sign-in codes and receipts).

Who we share it with

Only the service providers that run Sourcerer for us, under their own privacy and security commitments:

  • Railway, which hosts our servers and database;
  • Stripe, for card payments;
  • Resend, which sends our emails;
  • Google, if you choose to sign in with Google;
  • Keepa, our product-data provider: we send it product identifiers and search terms, never your personal details;
  • a Solana RPC provider, which we ask about public blockchain transactions to confirm USDC payments.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect Sourcerer and its users from fraud or abuse.

How long we keep it

Account details are kept while your account is open. Daily usage counts are kept for up to a year, your lookup history for 90 days or until you clear it, and cached product data expires within a month. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. When you delete your account we delete your personal details, except what we must keep by law.

Your choices

You can see your plan, usage and connected browsers on your account page. To get a copy of your data, correct it or delete your account, contact us at support@sourcerer.to.

Security

Sign-in codes and extension tokens are stored only as one-way hashes, traffic is encrypted, and we never hold the keys to customer funds or card details.

Children

Sourcerer is for adults running a business. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Google and Chrome data

Sourcerer’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The Sourcerer Chrome extension’s use of the information it receives complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements: it’s used only to provide Sourcerer’s features, never sold, and never used for advertising or credit decisions.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we’ll tell you by email or on the website before it takes effect.
